On a whim, right before the deadline, I decided to enter 'Off in the Distance' in the Art to Art Unearthed competition.
I had just begun finding my way with combining my love of watercolour with my sketching in a way I was happy with and trying these techniques on canvas. I was pleased with this piece and felt I captured Pixie's soulful eyes and wistful expression well.
I had no expectations of being selected as a finalist, let alone winning anything, but it was free entry, so what did I have to lose?!
She has been selected as one of the 26 finalists to be displayed in the Art to Art gallery Unearthed
exhibition.
